Overview
In this role you will provide health-led clinical leadership and safeguarding oversight within a new Multi-Agency Child Protection Team. You will ensure health information and clinical insight inform risk assessment, decision-making and planning for vulnerable children and families. You will work alongside health, social care, police and education colleagues to drive high-quality safeguarding practice and better outcomes. This position offers a opportunity to shape cross‑agency safeguarding in a dynamic ICS setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical leadership and safeguarding advice within a multi‑agency team
- Ensure health information and clinical insight inform risk assessment and planning
- Offer consultation, challenge and professional oversight to support safeguarding practice and outcomes
- Collaborate with health, social care, police and education colleagues to inform decision-making
Key requirements
- Safeguarding Children competency Level 4
- Significant safeguarding experience and leading multi‑agency processes
- Experience in supervision, training, audits and QA
- Experience in managing risks and high-level report writing
- Ability to analyse complex issues from multiple sources
- Experience of managing a multi‑disciplinary team and leading operational change
- Understanding of legislation: Children and Families Act 2014, Health and Social Care Act 2012, Mental Capacity Act
- Able to work with minimal supervision and meet tight/changing timescales
- Advanced communication and negotiation
- Analytical capability for complex issues
- Strategic planning across short/medium/long term
- Risk assessment and safeguarding analytics
- Complex information synthesis from multiple sources
- Evidence-based assessments and personalised care planning (in practice context)
