Overview
As MHST Team Lead you will supervise trainee and qualified practitioners to deliver early intervention and clinical services for children and young people. You will also manage a caseload, provide 1:1 and group interventions, and build strong links with designated school leads to support mental health and wellbeing. You will oversee a sub-team within the MHST and collaborate within a large multi-disciplinary team, contributing to a broader trust mission of high-quality care closer to home and equitable outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological assessments using diverse data sources
- Formulate and implement evidence-based psychological treatment plans
- Deliver a range of psychotherapeutic interventions for individuals, families, and groups
- Offer specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals
- Undertake risk assessment and advise on risk management
- Provide consistent clinical supervision for the team
- Maintain operational oversight of a smaller MHST sub-team
- Report to the Team Manager on team effectiveness and routine challenges
Key requirements
- Core profession in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, Systemic Therapy, or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
- Registration with a UK professional body
- Experience supervising clinicians; CYP Education/Mental Health setting experience with CYP
- Desirable: SWP qualification with clinical and supervisory experience; CYP IAPT supervisor training
- Ability to travel around the borough
