Overview
In this role you lead the delivery and development of high-quality clinical pharmacy services across Moorfields North network sites. You’ll drive medicines optimisation, governance and cost-effective use of medicines, reporting on usage and supporting protocol development. You manage network site pharmacy operations, oversee training, and help implement novel supply systems. You will work with cross-site teams to improve clinical practice, respond to incidents and audits, and support service innovation in line with national objectives. This is a strategic, impact-oriented role at a leading hospital, with a clear focus on patient safety, efficiency, and staff development.

Responsibilities
- Lead development and delivery of an efficient medicines optimisation agenda across clinical services
- Liaise with Service Directors to promote safe, cost-effective prescribing
- Oversee overall operations of network site pharmacies and provide operational support as needed
- Investigate and manage medication-related incidents and patient complaints
- Regularly conduct practice and clinical audits; identify Cost Improvement Plans (CIP)
- Collaborate with High-Cost Medicine team on PbR-excluded medicines
- Develop clinical and practical skills of network site pharmacy staff; Educational Supervisor/Facilitator roles
- Manage specialist pharmacists and lead pharmacy technicians; conduct recruitment and performance reviews
- Recruit, develop and motivate staff to maintain high performance
Key requirements
- Pharmacy degree
- 1 year pre-registration training
- Extensive hospital experience
- Provision of specialist pharmacy service
- Policy and guideline development
- Previous staff management experience
- Cost/expenditure reporting and analysis
- Mentoring and training experience
- Service development and project management experience
- Understanding of complex medicines use and procurement/supply issues
