Overview
As Joint Chief Finance Officer, you will shape the financial strategy and sustainability of two NHS trusts merging in 2027, guiding high-quality and innovative care. You will work with executive and clinical colleagues to drive financial recovery, efficiency, and transformation, while leading Finance, Procurement, and Digital / Information functions as SIRO. This role sits at a senior level to influence strategy and system-wide partnerships, with a strong emphasis on compassionate, collaborative leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of a joint financial strategy across two organisations
- Provide trusted advice and constructive challenge to Boards and Executive Teams
- Drive financial recovery, efficiency and sustainable performance
- Lead modern, high-performing Finance, Procurement and Digital functions
- Build strong partnerships across the NHS, local authorities, regulators and the wider Cheshire and Merseyside system
- Champion innovation, transparency, inclusion and continuous improvement
Key requirements
- Board-level leadership experience in NHS or comparable healthcare
- Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent)
- Strong track record in developing and implementing financial strategy
- Experience leading large-scale transformation and organisational change

- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear strategic decisions
