Join a well-established NHS Talking Therapies team in Lewisham as a High Intensity Counsellor. Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological therapy to NHS Talking Therapies clients in Lewisham
- Conduct specialist assessments to identify psychological needs
- Develop individualised, short-term treatment plans with a recovery focus
- Deliver evidence-based NICE-recommended therapies (PCE-CfD, DIT, IPT, CTfD) where trained
- Monitor progress using routine outcome measures and adjust interventions accordingly
- Collaborate with MDTs, refer appropriately, and work autonomously within guidelines
- Maintain high standards of clinical care and adhere to professional and service guidelines
Key requirements
- A level 7 post-graduate qualification in relevant field
- SCoPEd Column C accreditation with NHS Talking Therapies body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, ACC, NCS, BPC)
- Experience delivering high-intensity counselling for common MH problems
- Experience with psychological assessment including risk assessment
- Experience in NHS Talking Therapies/IAPT or similar and using routine outcome measures
- Experience working across cultures and with diverse communities
- Strong communication of complex information
- Ability to manage a heavy, autonomous caseload
- Cultural sensitivity and flexibility
- PCE-CfD, DIT, IPT, CTfD therapies (where trained)
- CBT, CfD, EMDR, IPT, DIT knowledge
- Routine outcome measures administration and interpretation
