You will lead a multidisciplinary Therapy Team delivering evidence-based assessments, treatments, and interventions to adults with complex mental health needs. The role combines clinical leadership with strategic governance, driving service development and maintaining high standards of care. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Therapy Team to ensure high-quality assessments and interventions
  • Oversee group and individual therapy programs within the MDT framework
  • Promote clinical excellence, governance, and service development
  • Engage in supervision, staff development, and inter-disciplinary collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with HCPC/BPS guidelines and evidence-based practice
  • Participate in clinical audits, research activities, and clinical governance meetings
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NICE guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate therapy progress to referrers, patients, carers, and SMT
  • Contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care with external providers
  • Support hospital Medical Director and SMT in staffing and skill mix decisions

Key requirements

  • HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist
  • extensive post-qualification experience
  • advanced clinical expertise in mental health inpatient settings
  • ability to lead, inspire, and develop multidisciplinary teams
  • experience in assessment, admissions, pathway management, and outcome measurement
  • strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • experience in service development, quality improvement, and clinical research/audit
