Overview

In this role you will provide senior strategic and operational leadership across Brookside Adolescent Inpatient Unit, YPHTT and CAMHS Liaison, ensuring an integrated acute and crisis pathway. You will drive patient flow, safe care, and transformation while engaging cross-system partners to improve outcomes for children and families. The role offers scope to shape service development, governance and performance in a high-impact, collaborative environment. This is an opportunity to lead a multi-service pathway at scale, contributing to a progressive, evidence-based model of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior strategic and operational leadership across three services to deliver an integrated pathway
  • Oversee patient flow, admissions, discharges, bed management and alternatives to admission
  • Establish interfaces and transfer-of-care processes between services and partners
  • Hold accountability for quality, patient safety, performance, workforce and regulatory compliance
  • Lead multidisciplinary governance and safe service delivery with clinical leads across disciplines
  • Manage performance using a joined-up framework of activity, demand, capacity, finance and experience data
  • Drive service transformation, evidence-based improvements and responses to policy and population needs
  • Ensure workforce planning, staffing, training, recruitment, supervision and development
  • Manage delegated budgets and resources within financial plans and efficiency targets
  • Maintain risk management, safeguarding, incident reporting and escalation arrangements
  • Develop strong relationships with families, CAMHS, hospitals, local authorities, commissioners and system partners
  • Promote collaboration, learning, interoperability and joint working across the three services
  • Represent the services at internal and system-level meetings and provide assurance on delivery and improvement
  • Deputise for the Assistant Director for CYP ONEL Acute Services as required
