Overview
In this role you lead health integration within the Family Help Service to deliver timely, coordinated support for children and families. You will work across health, social care, education, police and community services to embed health expertise in multi-disciplinary teams and strengthen safeguarding practice. You provide clinical guidance, inform early intervention, and ensure health needs are identified and addressed in Family Help Assessments and plans. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape health-led safeguarding and improve outcomes in a diverse urban area.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for health within the Family Help service to ensure timely, coordinated support for children and families
- Collaborate across health, social care, education, police and community services
- Embed health expertise in multidisciplinary teams and safeguard practice
- Offer safeguarding advice and clinical insight to support high-quality safeguarding and child protection
- Support development and implementation of Family Help Assessments and plans addressing health needs
- Develop and maintain networks to achieve team objectives and coordinate resources
- Prepare concise communications for a broad range of stakeholders
Key requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent senior-level experience in a relevant specialist area
- Experience drafting briefing papers for senior audiences
- Ability to analyze complex, conflicting information from multiple sources
- Advanced influencing and negotiation skills with senior managers and stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of how health impacts safeguarding and ability to articulate this in safeguarding proceedings
- Experience supporting the development and implementation of Family Help Assessments and plans addressing health needs
- Ability to plan across short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust resources
- Provide clinical advice on health-related issues impacting children and families
- Ability to produce concise, accurate communications for diverse stakeholders
- Disclosures and Barring Service (DBS) check as applicable
