Overview
In this role you will deliver expert diabetic and high-risk foot care within the community, educate and supervise junior podiatrists, and help develop a seamless service alongside senior leads. You will manage own caseload as a clinical expert, triage referrals, and drive service improvements. The post sits within North Mid's community podiatry team and collaborates with regional diabetic MDTs to sustain excellent patient care. This is a leadership-focused clinical role with teaching and policy-influencing responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for diabetic/high-risk foot patients and tailor complex management plans
- Exercise advanced clinical reasoning for diagnosis and treatment, including offloading and orthotics when needed
- Evaluate outcomes and promote patient engagement, self-care, and onward referrals
- Collaborate with community foot protection team and MDTs to ensure holistic care
- Lead on health promotion and health education for users and professionals
- Supervise and mentor podiatrists and foot care assistants; support line management tasks
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with standards; manage stock and training events
- Coordinate referrals and adhere to trust timelines
Key requirements
- Degree in Podiatry with LA certificate and POM; HCPC Registered
- Broad post-graduate NHS experience with diabetic outpatients
- Experience in advanced neurovascular, gait assessment and orthotic provision
- Experience of working in a team and supervising staff
- Strong communication and counselling abilities
- Effective prioritisation and caseload management
- Clinical governance awareness

- ABPis/toe pressures assessment
