Overview

Two dynamic consultant posts in respiratory medicine at West Middlesex University Hospital. You will run respiratory outpatient clinics and contribute to a rotating ward model, with scope to develop subspecialty interests. You will work with the existing team to develop services and drive teaching, research and audit. Flexible working options are available (full-time, part-time, or job-share). This role offers meaningful clinical leadership and opportunities to shape a high-performing respiratory service within a supportive Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute medical inpatient and outpatient care with morning post-take rounds
  • Facilitate access to comprehensive inpatient and outpatient Respiratory services
  • Cover for absent consultants to support leave
  • Coordinate hospital-community pathways to support discharge and follow-up
  • Support training, appraisal, and professional development of trainees
  • Engage in research, audit, and evaluation in respiratory medicine
  • Contribute to undergraduate teaching and education for WMUH students
  • Manage internal referrals within WMUH

Key requirements

  • Full GMC Registration
  • MRCP
  • On specialist register or within 6 months of CCT in Respiratory Medicine
  • Accredited in General Medicine
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Excellent command of English, Good communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rota
  • Experience in teaching and in audit/research
  • Leadership
  • Organisational skills
  • Communication skills
  • High level of Respiratory Skills
  • IT proficiency (email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of NHS organisation and modernization agenda
