Overview
As a Consultant you will lead specialist colposcopy and vulval services within a large NHS trust, contributing to high-quality, patient-centred care. You will collaborate across the obstetrics and gynaecology team to advance multidisciplinary pathways and teaching, while supporting on-call cover and service development. You will help shape colposcopy standards, governance, and research activities to improve outcomes for women. This role offers meaningful impact through teaching, innovation, and cross-team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist colposcopy services aligned with national standards
- Support development of vulval disease services and multidisciplinary care pathways
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota
- Contribute to teaching and training
- Collaborate across Barts Health to improve women's health outcomes
- Lead and participate in clinical governance, audits, and service improvement initiatives
- Engage in teaching and clinical research
- Maintain up-to-date mandatory training and Good Medical Practice
Key requirements
- GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynecology or within 6 months of CCT
- AC Accreditation/Experience in Colposcopy
- Experience in assessment and management of vulval disorders
- Commitment to multidisciplinary working, innovation, and service improvement
- Enthusiastic about teaching, research and developing healthcare professionals
- Wide experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance and audit processes
