Overview
In this role you will lead geriatric care for older patients within the Hampstead site, contributing to a forward-looking team. You will drive early geriatric assessment and frailty-focused care, while supporting liaison services and teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will collaborate with Acute Medicine and the wider multidisciplinary team to improve frailty pathways and patient outcomes. This is an opportunity to shape elderly care delivery within a large, innovative Trust that values teaching and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the TREAT (Triage and Rapid Elderly Assessment Team) for early CGA in frailty
- Support consultant-led frailty liaison services on the HSEP ward
- Develop and expand frailty pathways and liaison services
- Provide clinical supervision and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Collaborate with Acute Medicine and multidisciplinary teams to optimise elderly care delivery
Key requirements
- MBBS or equivalent
- GMC registration and within 6 months of being accepted for specialist registers in Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine
- MRCP or equivalent
- Current ALS provider
- Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
- Experience of medical audit
- Clinical training to gain UK CCT in Acute and/or General Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease
- Aptitude for teaching and training
- Ability to cover out of hours on call
