Overview
As a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you will provide clinical leadership for the inpatient Brookside Unit and the Young People’s Home Treatment Team, delivering direct care and supervision within a multidisciplinary framework.
You will drive relational, collaborative care and ensure high standards of risk management and governance.
The role includes a structured on-call component and involvement in service development aligned with the Trust values.

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate workload within a multidisciplinary team
- Provide direct clinical care and develop care plans for complex cases
- Supervise clinicians and support professional staff
- Demonstrate clinical and strategic leadership across inpatient and home treatment pathways
- Maintain and improve risk management at clinical and team levels
- Coordinate referrals to other health professionals and services
- Engage patients and families with information and education to support informed choices
- Participate in evidence-based practice, research, and peer review
- On-call responsibility as part of the senior psychiatry rota (1:13)

- Inclusion in, or eligibility for, Specialist Register in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or within 6 months of CCT
- Approved Clinician status or eligibility for it
