Overview

In this role you will provide medical leadership for the Complex Psychosis Team, unifying CRS and AO functions under one clinical structure. You will hold overall medical responsibility and contribute to developing the tri-borough clinical model and standard operating procedures during mobilisation. You will deliver direct clinical care across arms, oversee risk and safeguarding, and participate in MDTs to shape care pathways. This is a development-focused post with a clear impact on service design and patient engagement. You’ll work in a high-trust, multidisciplinary environment aiming to improve outcomes for people with complex psychosis.

Responsibilities

  • Direct clinical care across CRS and AO, including assessments, reviews, medications, CTOs and MHA duties
  • Community-based engagement with AO patients, including home visits and joint work with care co-ordinators
  • Weekly MDT meetings for the Complex Psychosis Team and urgent concerns triage
  • Support to duty function for urgent risk and safeguarding issues
  • Hold Approved Clinician status and S12 approval (or achieve within 3 months)
  • Clinical work organised around MDT reviews, home visits, and duty cover; no inpatient beds/outpatient clinics
  • Accountability to Clinical Director and Service Manager; involvement in MAC discussions
  • Contribute to operational and strategic discussions within the MAC and via the Trust leadership

Key requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • GMC registration with licence to practice; Specialist Register or within six months
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months
  • GMC good standing (no warnings/conditions)
  • MHA/MCA duties capability
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to deliver CPD, clinical audit/QA, and supervise junior/SAS staff
  • Desirable MRCPsych; additional qualifications in research or management
  • Desirable experience in complex psychosis, rehabilitation and/or assertive outreach
  • Excellent written and oral communication
