Clinical Lead- NCL CYP Mental Health Provider collaborative in London

NLFT is seeking to appoint a permanent Clinical Lead to provide strategic, system-wide clinical leadership for the NCL Community CYPMHS Provider Collaborative, now entering its live operational phase. This is a senior cross-provider leadership role responsible for:

• Clinical governance and safety assurance across all providers.
• Reducing unwarranted variation in pathways.
• Leading clinical strategy, policy standardisation and quality improvement.
• Supporting cross-provider transformation workstreams.
• Providing expert clinical oversight across the Collaborative's portfolio.
• Acting as clinical advisor to the Programme Director & Medical Director.
• Representing the PC at NCL ICB, Local Authority and system-wide forums.
• Providing 0.2 WTE clinical session with agreed Clinical Pathway to maintain active clinical practice.

The post holder will provide strategic clinical oversight, clinical transformation leadership, and senior governance across the NCL Community CYPMHS Provider Collaborative, ensuring high quality, safe and effective care across all partner organisations.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Job responsibilities include:

• Provide strategic clinical leadership to the Collaborative, working alongside the Programme Director and the Medical Director for CYPMHS.
• Ensure safe and effective clinical governance, quality oversight, and harmonisation of pathways across partner organisations.
• Lead the NCL Community CYPMHS Clinical Network, enabling cross-provider clinical collaboration and reducing unwarranted variation.
• Provide expert clinical input into transformation priorities, commissioning discussions, and system-wide planning.
• Represent the Clinical Voice of the Collaborative across the NCL Integrated Care Board (ICB), Local Authorities, and wider system forums.
• Maintain 0.2 WTE direct clinical activity within CAP, ensuring continued clinical practice and direct alignment with frontline CYPMHS services.
• Strengthen coproduction with children, young people, families, and the voluntary and community sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical leader to shape the future of Community CYPMHS across NCL, influence system transformation, and make a significant impact on clinical outcomes and equity for children and young people across the region.

Eligibility requirements include:

• MB BS or equivalent qualification or Educated to Doctorate Level.
• Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a current licence to practise from the GMC at intended start date OR Be a Clinician registered with a recognised Clinical Professional Body.
• Further professional qualification.
• Evidence of continuous personal and professional development.

Essential skills and knowledge include:

• Excellent knowledge of child and adolescent mental health.
• Substantial clinical practice and leadership in children and young people's mental health services.
• Excellent clinical skills using a biopsychosocial perspective and wide CYP mental health clinical knowledge.
• A wide range of specialist and subspecialist experience relevant to the post within NHS or comparable service.
• Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.

Academic skills and lifelong learning include:

• Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
• Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement.
• Participated in research or service evaluation.
• Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
