Job responsibilities:
The following are the core responsibilities of the Clinical Administrator. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Child Health Services, including immunisation
- Supporting the completion of clinical administration workflows within EMIS (Admin Today)
- Support clinicians with medical and administrative triage
- Ensure clear pathways of document management including prescription requests, processing all DNA letters in accordance with current policy, OOH notification/Death notifications in EMIS within practice guidelines
- Recruitment and induction of clinical locums as required validating and adding sessions to EMIS
- Process incoming and outgoing email and post
- Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate clinical schedules and populate within EMIS
- Process referrals to external agencies such as secondary/community care using the electronic referral system (ERS)
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Essential: GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
- 1-3 years in healthcare setting
Experience:
- Essential: Experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting
- Experience using EMIS Web
- Experience supporting clinical services, such as appointment coordination, triage administration, child health services or safeguarding processes
- Desirable: GP experience
