Overview
In this Band 6 Practitioner role, you will join the Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) Service to support adults with complex emotional needs in the community across Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to screen referrals, carry out comprehensive assessments, formulate care plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions while managing a caseload. The role emphasizes collaborative service development, quality improvement, and creating joined-up care pathways. This position offers meaningful opportunities to shape specialist, relational, evidence-informed care at scale.
Responsibilities
- Screen and assess referrals and undertake comprehensive assessments and formulations
- Develop care plans and provide therapeutic interventions while holding a caseload
- Liaise with referrers and build partnerships with other teams to ensure joined-up care
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and new ways of working
- Support effective running and development of the CEN Service in collaboration with Band 7 Senior Practitioner and Team Manager
Key requirements
- Degree or diploma level education with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience
- Core Mental Health Profession registration (e.g., NMC, UKCP, HCPC or Social Work England)
- Clinical/post-graduate management qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of working with adults with mental health problems in community settings
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience working with clients with a diagnosis of personality disorder
- Experience and skills in risk assessment and management
- Current UK professional registration
- Multidisciplinary teamwork
- Risk awareness and decision-making
- Reflective practice and willingness to engage in supervision
- Experience in SCM, MBT, DBT or related therapeutic approaches (desirable)
- Ability to undertake complex assessments and develop clinical formulations
- Knowledge of risk assessment procedures and clinical governance (desirable)
