Overview
In this role you lead the Clinical Delivery Group within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, shaping clinical strategy and ensuring patient safety and service quality.
You will partner with Hospital leadership to translate vision into tangible improvements, drive productivity and manage cross-functional teams.
The position involves governance, workforce development, and representing the CDG with external partners.
You will deputise for the Hospital Medical Director when needed and steer strategic initiatives across the group.
Responsibilities
- Provide visible medical leadership and direct line management of Clinical Service Leads within the CDG
- Lead transformation and improvement across the CDG to meet hospital and trust priorities
- Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, and governance within the CDG
- Support external relationships with agencies, regulators and professional bodies
- Ensure job plans reflect service commitments and priorities for CDG specialties
- Promote service-led improvements in quality and productivity across the CDG
- Lead Q&S governance and ensure completion of reports and learning actions
- Deputise for the Hospital Medical Director when required
