Overview
In this role you will support and advise on treatment planning for complex paediatric patients within the Special Care Dentistry service, collaborating with colleagues to deliver care across multiple settings. You will assist the Clinical Director, lead guideline updates and staff training, and participate in governance, audits, and waiting-list initiatives. Your expertise in sedation and general anaesthesia will underpin care for priority groups. This is a mission-driven NHS-facing role within a supportive CDS team that values development and quality improvement.

Responsibilities
- Provide support and advice on treatment planning for complex patients with colleagues and trainees
- Deliver clinical care to priority groups on referral from the service
- Provide care from Bromley Healthcare premises or appropriate settings, including domiciliary visits
- Administer conscious sedation and general anaesthesia as required
- Assist the Clinical Director in developing an evidence-based service and managing resources
- Update guidelines related to special care dentistry; act as safeguarding lead and provide staff training
- Lead and deliver clinical audit programmes and participate in waiting-list initiatives
- Support the Clinical Director with clinical matters and undertake delegated duties
Key requirements
- GDC-registered specialist in Special Care Dentistry
- Experience with GA, IV sedation (IHS) and treating complex patients
- Supervising/appraising staff; evidence of improving service quality via clinical governance
- Formal teaching experience; CPD evidence; performers list eligibility
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with dental software
- Knowledge of NHS frameworks and GDC Standards; awareness of safeguarding
