Overview
In this role you will lead the Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy imaging service, combining advanced clinical practice with operational management to deliver safe, high-quality patient care. You will provide visible leadership to radiography staff, shape patient pathways, and drive quality improvement and professional development. You will maintain an active clinical presence while guiding the service towards development and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Lead daily clinical and operational management of Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy services to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality delivery
- Maintain active clinical presence to support complex procedures and high standards of patient care
- Supervise and mentor Radiographers to build confidence and capability
- Collaborate with Practice Educator to ensure training and professional development
- Coordinate Interventional Radiologist on-call rota for continuous service
- Collaborate with Consultant Radiologists, booking teams and hospital stakeholders to create efficient patient pathways
- Monitor equipment performance and liaise with providers to minimise disruptions
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and development of evidence-based practice
- Foster a supportive, collaborative and accountable team culture
Key requirements
- Current HCPC registration as a Radiographer
- Extensive clinical experience in Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy
- Previous leadership or senior level experience in Radiology
- Strong clinical judgement and confidence to lead a specialist imaging service
- Experience supporting training, development and competency assessment
- Understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, audit and quality improvement
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse service information and drive improvements
