Band 6 MRI in London

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 MRI Radiographer to join our MRI Team at The London Clinic, one of the UK's leading private hospitals, based in the heart of London's prestigious Harley Street medical district. As a Band 6 MRI Radiographer, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality MRI service, working closely with the MRI Superintendent, Band 7 Radiographers, Radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams. You will be responsible for performing MRI examinations safely and efficiently, ensuring excellent patient care throughout the imaging pathway. The successful postholder will be expected to work autonomously once trained and competent, whilst maintaining the highest standards of image quality, patient safety, and service delivery.

Location & Working Pattern

• Job Type: Permanent
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Shifts: Department operates between 8:00am and 8:00pm Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm weekends
• Participation in a long-day rota across up to four hospital locations
• On-call commitment across weekdays, weekends, and Bank Holidays
• Flexibility is essential to meet service requirements

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform a wide range of MRI examinations to a consistently high standard.
• Ensure all patients, staff, and visitors entering the MRI environment are appropriately safety screened in accordance with departmental policies.
• Deliver exceptional patient care, adapting communication and examination techniques to meet individual patient needs.
• Accurately position patients and optimise imaging protocols to achieve diagnostic-quality images.
• Work closely with Radiologists and senior radiographers to ensure examination protocols are matched appropriately to clinical indications.
• Safely operate complex MRI equipment and associated technologies.
• Assess image quality and seek guidance where appropriate to ensure diagnostic standards are maintained.
• Undertake IV contrast administration where appropriately trained.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and contribute to the efficient management of workflow across the department.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, service development, audit activities, and departmental governance.
• Contribute to weekend, evening, and on-call rotas following successful completion of training and competency sign-off.
• Ensure compliance with all Clinic policies relating to Health & Safety, COSHH, Infection Prevention, Fire Safety, and mandatory training requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Essential Criteria:
• DCR or BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography.
• HCPC registration as a Radiographer.
• Minimum of two years' MRI experience across a broad range of examinations.
• Experience working with a PACS and computerised Radiology Information System.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commitment to delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexible approach to working patterns and service demands.
• Desirable:
• IV cannulation and contrast administration competency.
• Experience participating in an on-call rota.
• Previous experience within a private healthcare environment.
