Overview
In this role you help expand community-based mental health services across boroughs, working within the MINT to develop local pathways of care. You will collaborate with primary care and VCSE partners to support whole-person, whole-population health. You’ll apply holistic assessments, provide psychosocial interventions, and offer expert pharmacological input where needed. This permanent, full-time position offers mentorship or peer mentoring and opportunities for ongoing professional development. You’ll contribute to a mission-driven, integrated care model at scale.

Responsibilities
- Conduct holistic bio-psycho-social assessments and specialist nursing assessments when relevant
- Provide guidance to primary care to support mental health needs within primary care settings
- Perform robust risk assessments and develop safety plans with patients and carers
- Offer access to a range of psychosocial interventions for individuals as needed
- Provide expert advice on pharmacological options and coordinate with Consultants/GPs for prescribing guidance
- Administer intramuscular medications where prescribed, monitor effects, and comply with NMC and medicines policies
- Maintain safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications, and uphold infection control protocols
- Ensure adherence to infection control measures on-site and in off-site locations
Key requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist with current registration
- Experience of post-qualifying work in psychiatry
- Experience supervising junior staff; desirable experience in Band 6 role or equivalent
- Knowledge of counselling/CBT, psychosocial interventions, and recovery approaches
- Ability to interpret research and apply it to practice
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage distressed patients and use de-escalation techniques
