Overview
In this role, you join the Experts at Hand (EaH) team within NELFT to improve access to specialist mental health support for children with SEND. You will work across health, education and local authorities to deliver early, inclusive interventions and build capacity in schools and settings. You will contribute to new pathways and reduced waiting times while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support thriving in local communities. This is a chance to shape SEND reform at a local level through innovative, system-wide practice.

Responsibilities
- Provide early advice, consultation and intervention for children and young people with SEND
- Support schools and settings to build confidence and capability in meeting needs inclusively
- Deliver individual, group and whole-setting approaches
- Collaborate in an integrated multidisciplinary team with education, social care and local authority partners
- Contribute to reducing waiting times and improving access to specialist support
- Help develop innovative pathways enabling children and young people to thrive locally
Key requirements
- Post-graduate training in psychological practice with HCPC registration
- Master's level or equivalent in psychology
- Extensive experience with difficult children/young people requiring complex interventions
- Experience with co-morbid difficulties and SEND in children/adolescents
- Experience in therapeutic work with parents/carers/families
- Experience in observation and assessment in school and home contexts
- Experience in multi-disciplinary team assessments and inter-agency meetings
- Autonomous specialist assessment to determine appropriate treatment plans
