Overview

In this role you will deliver comprehensive anaesthetic care across two sites, contributing to a high-performing department known for accreditation, teaching and patient outcomes. You will work within a busy teaching hospital network, engaging in service development and education initiatives. Expect cross-site responsibilities, mentorship, and involvement in simulation-based training to support quality care and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients in line with GMC Good Medical Practice
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow professional conduct
  • Operate within the attached care plan and collaborate with Clinical Director
  • Manage resources responsibly and be professionally answerable to Medical Director
  • Attend corporate induction and complete mandatory training
  • Oversee clinical management of inpatients and outpatients under your care

Key requirements

  • Hold GMC medical qualification
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of CCT/CESR
  • ALS training and EPALS/APLS training
  • Broad anaesthesia experience for elective and emergency surgery across ages
  • Has completed management training or is on course to do so
  • Broad teaching experience with undergrad and postgrad trainees
  • Ability to apply research findings to clinical problems
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Teaching and mentoring of junior doctors
  • Willingness to take on additional professional responsibilities at multiple levels
