This senior role has a mix of technical and management responsibilities. You will be part of the ICT Services Senior Management Team contributing to the running of this key Clinical Support Service. The role also includes managing a Network and Telephony specialist.

The technical element of the role includes maintaining the existing Network and Telephony solutions, developing new solutions as the demands of the Trust change and involvement in numerous projects.

Main duties of the job:

  • You will be the Trust's subject matter expert on all network and telephony matters, managing and being responsible for all incidents that relate to network or telephony issues.
  • Support the wider ICT Services team giving advice and guidance on technical matters.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure network infrastructure in line with NHS England cyber security standards and best practices.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) provides health and care services for a population of over one million people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care, as well as the provision of three GP surgeries in Cheshire.

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree or equivalent experience in an IT related discipline.
  • Essential: Professional certification (CCNA) or equivalent experience in enterprise networking, security, wireless networking, or unified communications.
  • Desirable: Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Desirable: Project management experience supported by a Prince 2 foundation qualification.
  • Desirable: ITIL v3 foundation qualification.

Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Essential: Advanced hands-on configuration skills with network/telephony/firewall devices.
  • Essential: Advanced troubleshooting of network/telephony/firewall issues.
  • Essential: Knowledge of network security principles, QoS, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VRF and NAC and enterprise troubleshooting methodologies.

Experience:

  • Essential: Minimum 2 years Management experience in an operational role.
  • Essential: Minimum 2 years experience in a technical Support role.
  • Essential: Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, wireless LAN, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP/SIP and unified communications platforms.
  • Desirable: Experience in the NHS or Public Sector.
