A commitment to continuing professional development and collaborative team working is essential.This post offers the opportunity to shape the future of our breast services while delivering safe, compassionate, and innovative care to our local population.Main duties of the jobProvide specialist oncoplastic breast surgery care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of benign and malignant breast conditions.Deliver a full range of oncoplastic procedures, including therapeutic mammoplasty and reconstructive techniques.Lead and participate in theatre lists, outpatient clinics, multidisciplinary meetings, and cancer pathway activity.Ensure high-quality clinical decision-making and safe management of complex breast disease.Organise and manage personal clinical workload effectively to support timely patient care and cancer waiting time standards.Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and innovation within the breast unit.Supervise, support, and teach junior medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.Apply research evidence to clinical practice and participate in audit, governance, and continuous service improvement.Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives, colleagues, GPs, and partner agencies.Maintain professional development, meet revalidation requirements, and engage in continuing medical education.Work flexibly, demonstrate leadership, and contribute positively to team functioning, especially during periods of service pressure.Uphold high standards of professionalism, empathy, and patient-centred care.About usAll new colleagues can expect to receive a warm and friendly Wirral welcome from the very first time they make contact with us.
