We are now seeking to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our MHSOP South Leics CMHT on a full time or part time basis. You will work in partnership with members of well-established multi-disciplinary teams, both operationally and strategically to drive forward innovation delivering the best effective care for our patients. Main duties of the job:
- Deliver the highest quality of clinical care to our patients and carers.
- Work in partnership at both strategic and operational levels with relevant and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that people who use services, carers and advocates are treated with respect and dignity.
- Provide excellent clinical leadership and actively develop your team along with expert advice to our hospital and community specialists, managers and directors on what is needed to deliver excellent care and future strategic directions.
- Liaise with General Practitioners, hospital and community specialists and other agencies wherever relevant.
Applications are invited from registered medical practitioners, who have or are eligible for, a CCT or an equivalent approved indicator of training and eligible for entry onto the Specialist Register within six months of the interview date.

- Essential Qualifications: GMC Registration, GMC Licence to Practice, Medical Qualification, MRC Psych or equivalent, Specialist Register (Subspecialty Old Age), CCT or equivalent Eligible for CCT or equivalent within 6 months of the interview date, Approved/eligible for approval for Section 12 of Mental Health Act, Approved/eligible for approval for Approved Clinician status.
- Desirable Additional Qualifications: Higher Degree, Diploma.
Essential Experience: Clinical expertise in speciality/sub specialty, appropriate training as defined by the relevant SAC of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, awareness of research methods and understanding of application of research findings in service development.
Desirable Experience: Broad range of experience across relevant settings, experience as a researcher, publications in peer reviewed articles and/or chapters/books, supervision of research of others.
