Job summaryThe Urgent Care CSU have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised individual who enjoys the challenge of working in an environment where no two days are the same, to join the Emergency Department Administration Management Team.The successful candidate will act as the first-line manager for a team of clerical staff, providing effective day-to-day supervision and ensuring a professional, efficient and welcoming service across the Emergency Department Reception and Ward Clerk teams.Main duties of the jobKey responsibilities will include monitoring staffing and stock levels to ensure service demands are met, supervising and supporting clerical staff, and providing training in all aspects of patient administration and customer service.The post holder will work closely with medical, nursing and administrative colleagues across the Urgent Care service to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of front-of-house and administrative services.
The Emergency Department Reception and Ward Clerk service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The successful applicant will therefore be required to work across both Emergency Departments at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and St Jamess University Hospital (SJUH), covering all aspects of the adults and paediatric Emergency Departments.The role will involve working Monday to Sunday as part of a shift-based rota.The ability and willingness to work across both sites is essential.Flexibility is an important requirement of the role.
