Overview
In this role you join the Ophthalmology (Glaucoma) team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to support a high-quality tertiary glaucoma service.
Based mainly at Seacroft Hospital with some sessions at St James's University Hospital, you work closely with consultants and a multidisciplinary team.
You will have opportunities to develop autonomy while contributing to teaching, research, and ongoing service improvement in a collaborative, patient-centred environment.
This role offers exposure to glaucoma clinics, ARC, and the Glaucoma Monitoring Unit within a forward-thinking teaching hospital.

Responsibilities
- Support consultants in delivering a high-quality tertiary glaucoma service
- Work across glaucoma clinics, ARC, and with the Glaucoma Monitoring Unit (GMU) technicians
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage glaucoma and other ophthalmic conditions
- Engage in teaching, supervision, and participation in departmental activities and quality improvement
- Contribute to research portfolio and clinical governance activities
- Provide patient-centred care and maintain professional standards in a busy clinical environment
- Develop increasing autonomy and participate in continuing professional development
- Represent the department in quality improvement and governance initiatives
- Key requirements
- GMC registration and license to practice by start date
- Interest in ophthalmology and glaucoma
- Ability to assess patients and contribute to glaucoma management
