Overview

In this role you will deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care within mental health services in Leeds, supporting inpatient and community teams. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary group to optimise medicines use, provide medicines information, and deliver education and training. The role includes rotations across four sites to broaden experience and opportunities to develop leadership and training skills. A strong emphasis on professional development and service improvement makes this an impactful position for advancing mental health care.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clinical and healthcare teams on safe, effective, and appropriate use of mental health medicines
  • Work with ward and community hub teams and independently support medicines optimisation
  • Develop and deliver medicines-related training to patients, carers, and staff
  • Contribute to service developments, audits, and research to improve care
  • Participate in rotations across LYPFT to gain broad experience in different services
  • Engage in on-call and weekend rota across inpatient sites
  • Support the development of trainee pharmacy colleagues and mentors
  • Collaborate as part of multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective operations of the pharmacy service

Key requirements

  • BSc / MPharm in Pharmacy and GPhC registration
  • Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification or equivalent experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience providing professional/educational/leadership support to others
  • Any experience in secondary care or mental health pharmacy
