Overview
In this role you will join the Department of Anaesthesia across LGI and SJUH to support a large, diverse anaesthetic service. You will contribute to day-to-day clinical care while collaborating with a strong teaching and research culture. You will engage in undergraduate and postgraduate education, helping to drive excellence in anaesthesia practice within a renowned NHS trust. This is an opportunity to shape high-quality, safe care across a major teaching hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide general adult anaesthesia with experience in obstetric and major general anaesthesia
- Support day-case surgery initiatives and contribute to service development
- Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision
- Participate in research activities and professional development within the department
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across LGI and SJUH
- Present at shortlisted interview on a topic related to day-case surgery
Key requirements
- FRCA (or equivalent) and inclusion on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of CCT at interview
- Excellent communication and team-working skills
- Commitment to teaching and involvement in research
- Ability to work across two major teaching hospital sites
