Foster a culture of collaboration, mutual support, and shared accountability to optimize patient care delivery.Clinical Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of clinical care, overseeing the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acutely ill patients. Monitor patient progress, intervene as necessary, and champion evidence-based practices to enhance outcomes.Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the AMU, including patient flow management, bed allocation, and resource utilization. Coordinate closely with the existing leadership team to streamline processes, and maximize efficiency.Resource Management: Work collaboratively to allocate staffing, equipment, and supplies effectively, ensuring that the department is adequately resourced to meet patient needs while adhering to budgetary constraints and regulatory standards.Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance measures to monitor and enhance the quality of care provided within the department. Conduct regular audits, analyse performance data, and implement improvement initiatives in partnership with the nursing team.About usWe operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals.
