Overview

In this role you will provide a comprehensive general outpatient neurology service to the Kettering catchment, with opportunities for specialist interest clinics and teaching. You will work alongside existing neurology consultants and specialist nurses to deliver inpatient reviews when needed, with access to beds at the hospital. The post offers cross-site collaboration within UHN and a focus on audit, governance, and service development in a busy regional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general neurology patients and uphold high clinical standards
  • Provide a full range of neurological services and contribute to service development
  • Conduct outpatient clinics and inpatient ward referrals
  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement (minimum three audits in five years)
  • No out-of-hours on-call duties

Key requirements

  • Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it
  • General training in Neurology to specialist level or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience as a consultant at a secondary care hospital
  • Full registration with General Medical Council
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to collaborate across UHN to improve patient outcomes for all
