Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire is recruiting! We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Officer to join our friendly and dedicated Central Administration Team. Our Marketing Officer plays a key role in raising awareness of the charity's services, projects, and impact across Coventry and Warwickshire. Working closely with the Central Operations Manager, you will help deliver engaging marketing campaigns, manage social media channels, create compelling content, support community engagement activities, and promote the work of the charity to a wide range of audiences. Mainly based at the Leamington office, with ad hoc days in the Coventry office. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential as the role involves travel to various sites across Coventry & Warwickshire.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To be an active, integrated, and cohesive member of the central administration team in order to contribute fully to the delivery of the charity's strategic marketing and communications objectives.
  • To work with the Central Operations Manager to improve the profile, visibility, and reputation of the charity across Coventry and Warwickshire.
  • To work effectively with all people, developing productive relationships with colleagues, volunteers, external partners, and the Board of Trustees.
  • To contribute to the preparation of reports and information for the Central Operations Manager and other leadership team members as required.
  • To represent the organisation as required.
  • To lead on key marketing, communications, promotional activities, projects, and campaigns as required.

Specific Responsibilities

  • To develop and cultivate positive relationships within local communities across Coventry and Warwickshire.
  • To identify opportunities to increase awareness of the charity, promote its services, strengthen community engagement, and enhance the organisation's profile.
  • To promote the work of Age UK Coventry & Warwickshire through the creation and distribution of marketing and promotional materials, ensuring consistency with organisational branding, including assisting with the recruitment process.
  • To develop a database of supporters of the charity and cultivate a long-term relationship between them and the charity.
  • To manage and develop the charity's social media channels, creating engaging content and supporting audience growth and engagement.
  • To support managers in their relationships with external organisations.
  • To contribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing, communications, and promotional activities.
  • Utilise national and local campaigns to celebrate the work of the charity and increasing awareness of its services, projects, and impact.
  • Contribute towards the development and maintenance of the website, charitable publications, and materials.
  • To support the promotion of legacy giving through marketing campaigns, awareness activities, and the development of appropriate promotional materials.
  • To prepare and distribute press releases, case studies, news stories, and promotional content to local media outlets and other appropriate channels.
  • To create, manage, and monitor digital advertising campaigns, including social media and search engine advertising.
  • To produce and distribute internal communications, including staff newsletters and organisational updates.
  • To plan, create, and deliver email marketing campaigns to promote services, events, campaigns, volunteering opportunities, and organisational news.

  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of using varied social media platforms.
  • Experience of administration work in a professional environment.
