Overview
In this role you will lead an adult community psychiatry service, providing medical expertise within a multidisciplinary team to deliver best-practice care. You will act as Responsible Clinician for a patient cohort, participate in care planning, and support trust transformation through community initiatives. You will collaborate with CPNs, psychologists, and other clinicians to manage complex cases and drive service improvement. This is a part-time post with flexible working and opportunities for teaching and leadership.

Responsibilities
- Provide Consultant clinical leadership and Responsible Clinician status for their patient group
- Lead compliance with the Mental Health Act and Care Quality Commission requirements
- Participate in clinical assessment and care-planning addressing psychiatric, physical, and social needs
- Carry out detailed psychiatric assessments and contribute to treatment plans including psychotropic management
- Foster relationships with other psychiatrists to coordinate care and referrals
- Support and engage with MDTs and primary care colleagues; contribute to teaching
- Be involved in service development and clinical governance within the Directorate
Key requirements
- Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT
- Eligibility for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status
- MBBS (or equivalent)
- Current UK professional registration; GMC registration not sponsorable for this role
- Substantial experience in general adult psychiatry and MDT teamwork
