Overview
In this HR Advisor role you will provide first-line employment relations guidance to managers and staff across the Trust.
You will support a large clinical group and help manage sickness absence, conduct, performance, disciplinary, and grievance matters.
The position blends office and home-based work with travel to multiple sites.
You will work under pressure, using sound judgement to deliver practical, policy-aligned advice that supports organisational goals.

Responsibilities
- Provide operational HR advisory service to Trust-wide Directorates and Departments to help achieve objectives
- Act as a role model within the HR team and maintain Trust values
- Develop and maintain working relationships at all levels, including senior stakeholders
- Provide day-to-day advisory support on Terms and Conditions, policies, employment law, and best practice
- Support line managers on sickness absence management and related processes
- Advise on Agenda for Change re-banding and act as Job Evaluation practitioner
- Coordinate hearings and investigations with HR colleagues, managers, and panels
- Deliver training with Training and Development to enable managers to use HR policies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NHS initiatives and employment law
- Analyse HR KPIs and update HR databases
- Liaise with Trade Unions and professional bodies
- Ensure in-house case management System is accurate and timely
- Respond to SAR/FOI requests relating to HR casework
- Provide equality & diversity advice and support WRES/WDES reports
- Key requirements
- Level 5 Intermediate CIPD qualification or degree/equivalent in a relevant field
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and good practice
- Excellent oral and written communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse, demanding workload under tight deadlines
- Experience in sickness absence management, conduct, performance, disciplinary, and grievances
- Experience in advisory HR role and handling casework, investigations, and hearings
- Experience with Equality & Diversity matters and impact assessments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across HR and with managers
- Proven stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
