Job summaryA Consultant post has become available in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTR). This is aa full-time Gynaecologist, participating in on call and hot week rotas. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team. A passion for Gynaecological care is essential.

Main duties of the jobThis is a full time Gynaecologist Post - Day time gynaecology commitments would include gynaecology clinics, including PMB, hysteroscopy and two week wait referrals, gynaecology hot week and operating theatre sessions.

The successful candidate will be job planned to support governance and teaching roles to support the running and development of the department.

About usLTHTR is a teaching hospital serving a local population of 450,000 across Greater Preston, Chorley and South Ribble. The Trust has approximately 4,500 births annually and a level three neonatal unit. We provide Bluebell and Rainbow clinics plus services for high-risk pregnancies having recently become the Maternal medicine Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria, We are privileged to work closely with a nationally recognised, award winning team of midwives dedicated to improving the birth experience for all women.

We offer all four choices for place of birth. There is midwifery led birth units at both Royal Preston Hospital and at Chorley & South Ribble Hospital and a 12 bedded obstetric unit in Royal Preston Hospital. In gynaecology we provide services in benign gynaecology, early pregnancy, endometriosis, urogynaecology, ambulatory, menopause, paediatric, endocrine disorders, vulval conditions and termination of pregnancy.
