We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a passionate, forward-thinking Nursing Associate to join our Nursing Team and work alongside our multidisciplinary workforce at Riverside Surgery. We are a busy practice serving a diverse range of patients (11,700 approx) in the centre of High Wycombe. We would welcome applicants who feel they can make a difference with their expertise and positive outlook and would like to contribute to Riverside Surgery's vision of providing excellent care.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and ensure high-quality care is given as well as provide a high standard of general nursing care to all patients, ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respect while promoting a safe environment.
Main duties of the job:
- You will maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice policies, protocols and guidelines.
- It is essential that the Nursing Associate works within their own level of competency and expands their role in accordance with practice requirements and own scope of practice.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Providing wound care and dressings
- Performing and recording clinical observations such as BP, temperature, respiration rate, pulse including appropriate coding
- Providing a range of injections (B12, depo etc.) and vaccinations (flu, covid, RSV etc.), venepuncture and other relevant clinical tasks as required and in line with the competencies of the role
- Promoting health and wellbeing to all patients, for example undertaking the NHS health check
- Supporting long-term care planning for our patients with chronic diseases e.g. care and support planning, serious mental illness reviews etc.
- If competent, performing smear tests and baby immunisations.
We are looking for a nursing associate, preferably who has completed the GPN course, and worked in general practice. The hours and days are flexible / subject to negotiation.

- Qualifications: Essential Nursing Associate Foundation Degree Qualification; Desirable The Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate in General Practice Nursing
