Overview
In this role you will provide operational, scientific and strategic guidance for Point of Care Testing as part of the POCT team.
You will manage day-to-day POCT operations, ensuring policies meet ISO 15189 standards and reporting to the POCT Manager.
You may deputise for the POCT Manager and provide support outside routine hours.
The role is embedded in a Trust focused on high-quality integrated care and staff development, with opportunities to train and study further.

Responsibilities
- Provide operational, scientific and strategic advice on POCT decisions as a member of the POCT Management Team
- Oversee day-to-day POCT operations ensuring cost-efficient, high-standard service delivery
- Implement and monitor policies to meet ISO 15189 requirements
- Prepare and present reports to the POCT Manager and Governance meetings
- Deputise for the POCT Manager during absences and provide out-of-hours support as needed
- Key requirements
- Completed Specialist BMS portfolio
- MSc or FIBMS
- Proven experience as a Specialist BMS with strong knowledge of Haematology, Chemistry and Microbiology
- Experience with quality management systems, audits and document control
- UK Registration
- Desirable: Anticoagulation experience
- Desirable: UKAS experience
- Ability to prioritise and manage own time
- Ability to lead and coordinate subordinate staff
- Strong report, protocol and documentation skills
