Overview
As a Community Urgent Care GP, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-informed assessments and care to acutely ill patients across cSDEC sites, aiming to avoid hospital admissions and enable care at home where possible. You join a multi-service Directorate offering same-day and urgent care, with a flexible, full- or part-time pattern and opportunities for teaching and personal development. Your work supports integrated, cross-provider care across Oxfordshire and beyond, in a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities
- Perform same day urgent care consultations (cSDEC) and home/telephone assessments
- Deliver personalised medical assessments and care plans
- Provide timely medical reviews and interventions within an inter-disciplinary model of care
- Support admission avoidance and care closer to home
- Adhere to local prescribing guidelines
- Collaborate with Primary Care, acute, specialist services and Community/Voluntary services
- Coordinate clinical care with colleagues to ensure quality outcomes
- Be available to work at multiple base sites as needed
- Engage in teaching and development activities
- Participate in service development and Quality Improvement initiatives
Key requirements
- Full GMC registration with license to practice
- GP qualification and training completion (JCPTGP or MRCGP)
- Active NHS clinical experience in General Practice with urgent care and older people
- Desirable: subspecialty experience at the interface between general medicine and primary care
- Desirable: experience with virtual ward rounds and geriatric/acute medicine
- Experience in supervising medical trainees and applying research to practice
