b Overview /b p In this role you lead the Shropshire Pay Services under a shared service model across three NHS Trusts, guiding payroll, pensions and expenses with a focus on accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction. You act as the technical lead on payroll matters, interpreting policies and driving service quality. You will manage a large, multi-site team and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver a compliant, cost-effective payroll function that supports compassionate, patient-centred care. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li Permanent contract /li li Full-time /li li Band 8a (Agenda for Change) /li li Salary Β£57,528βΒ£64,750 per annum/pro rata /li li Shrewsbury location /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Manage the Pay Services Department to deliver cost-effective, efficient, and responsive payroll services /li li Act as the lead specialist for all payroll matters and provide technical guidance on payroll, pensions, and expenses /li li Interpret national and local policies and ensure adherence across the payroll function /li li Lead and develop a large, cross-functional team to maintain high customer satisfaction and service quality /li li Monitor performance using KPIs and drive improvements across the service /li li Collaborate with NHS partners to ensure alignment with service level agreements and governance /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Masters level qualification in Payroll Management or proven relevant experience /li li CIPP qualification with substantial post-qualification experience /li li Detailed knowledge of pay legislation (tax, NI, sickness, maternity, salary sacrifice, liability orders) /li li Proven NHS-level or large-organisation payroll management experience with a customer-focused approach /li li Strong leadership and change-management skills with ability to motivate and manage large teams /li li Experience designing and using KPIs to monitor service performance /li /ul ul li leadership /li li organizational skills /li li motivational ability /li li expert knowledge of payroll operations /li li tax and NI compliance /li li pensions and expenses processing /li /ul
