Overview
In this role you will lead the systems and culture that keep care safe, effective and continually improving. You will own clinical audit, risk management and incident learning in collaboration with clinical leads. You will drive readiness for CQC inspections and oversee the Quality Account, while line-managing the Practice Development Lead and Data Analyst. Your work will translate governance expertise into every ward round, home visit and family conversation. This is a mission‑critical role for shaping a compassionate, learning‑oriented hospice to deliver outstanding care.

Responsibilities
- Lead systems and culture ensuring safe, effective and continually improving care
- Own clinical audit, risk management and incident learning
- Prepare for and lead readiness for Care Quality Commission inspections
- Produce the annual Quality Account
- Act as Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer
- Line manage Practice Development Lead and Data Analyst
- Shape training and evidence base for high‑quality palliative and end‑of‑life care
- Make governance expertise visible across wards, home visits and family conversations
Key requirements
- Substantial senior experience in clinical governance, quality or risk management within health or social care
- Working knowledge of CQC fundamental standards and regulatory inspection processes
- Proven track record leading clinical audit and quality improvement programmes with measurable impact
- Experience investigating incidents and complaints, including root cause analysis and PSIRF
- Clear presentation skills and ability to support staff under pressure
