The HIV Support Advocacy and Wellbeing Specialist will be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered advocacy, wellbeing and community support for people living with HIV across Essex. Working alongside the HIV Support Project Lead, the postholder will provide holistic assessments, manage a caseload and provide support for individuals experiencing complex health, social and emotional needs, including poverty, welfare, stigma, mental health, housing and substance use.

Main duties of the job include supporting targeted outreach and engagement activities alongside the wider Essex Sexual Health Service Outreach and Education Team to reduce health inequalities, improve engagement in HIV care, strengthen referral pathways and increase access to support for communities disproportionately affected by HIV. Through partnership working, group facilitation, awareness raising and co-production, the postholder will empower people living with HIV to improve their wellbeing, achieve their goals and live independently while helping to shape responsive, inclusive services across Essex.

Essential qualifications and experience include:
- Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in health, social care, public health or a related field.
- Experience of advocacy and well-being support.
- Experience or understanding of supporting people with complex needs and health inequalities with marginalised communities.
- Ability to build trust and work in a non-judgemental manner.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Own car, clean driving license and ability to travel across Essex.
