b Overview /b p As a doctor in palliative care, you join a consultant-led hospice team delivering high-quality care across inpatient, hospice, and community settings. You will collaborate closely with an MDT to assess, treat, and support patients and families, contributing to service development during a growth phase. The role blends clinical responsibility with teaching, supervision, and CPD, offering opportunities to work across hospice, community, and hospital environments. This position combines hands-on care with ongoing professional development and mentoring. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li CPD opportunities /li li Clinical supervision /li li Annual appraisal /li li Flexible part-time/ PAs and on-call remuneration /li li Induction and structured transition /li li Supportive team environment /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Deliver high-quality palliative care in collaboration with Consultants in Palliative Medicine /li li Undertake medical assessment, diagnosis and management in hospice/community /li li Prescribe and manage treatment per policies and guidelines /li li Assess admissions and coordinate investigations with the MDT /li li Communicate with patients, relatives and carers; participate in family meetings /li li Attend Specialist Palliative Care MDT meetings and provide on-call support /li li Maintain accurate clinical records and update drug charts /li li Co-ordinate with referrers and other professionals for continuity of care /li li Provide teaching and support to MDT and visiting professionals /li li Engage in CPD, annual appraisal, and revalidation processes /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li MBBS or equivalent /li li At least two years post-graduate experience; Foundation 2 competencies or equivalent /li li Background in General Practice or hospital medicine /li li Experience with life-limiting illnesses and multi-professional teamwork /li li Full GMC registration and eligibility to work in the UK /li li Satisfactory DBS check and professional references /li li Experience in prescribing, patient communication, and working in palliative care (desirable) /li /ul ul li Effective communication with patients, families and colleagues /li li Empathy and compassionate patient-centered approach /li li Teamwork and MDT collaboration /li li IT proficiency /li li Audit experience /li li Knowledge of NHS structure and EOL care quality markers /li /ul
