Overview
In this role you will blend education and training leadership with advanced clinical pharmacy in a Community Treatment Team. You will shape workforce development, oversee placements and professional development, and deliver specialist medicines advice and patient care. You will partner with universities, lead training plan submissions, and provide independent prescribing where applicable. This role supports patient-centred care and medicines optimisation within the NHS Trust.

Responsibilities
- Oversee education and training across undergraduate, foundation, and post-registration programmes in collaboration with the Lead Pharmacist for Research and Workforce Development
- Manage rotations and multisector placements to ensure quality and continuity
- Lead annual NHSE foundation year training plan submissions and deliver learning sessions
- Coordinate undergraduate MPharm placements with local university schools, plan resources, and support placement delivery and timetabling
- Drive development of pharmacy education and training, assessing workforce implications of service changes and keeping staff updated
- Provide advanced clinical pharmacy practice within a Community Treatment Team, including specialist medication advice, reviews, and (where applicable) independent prescribing
- Engage with external partners and cross-functional teams to support patient care and decision-making
- Support professional development for pharmacists, trainees, and pharmacy technicians
Key requirements
- MPharm or equivalent first degree in Pharmacy
- GPhC registration as a Pharmacist
- Postgraduate clinical qualification or portfolio towards RPS core advanced pharmacist curriculum
- Qualified Pharmacist prescriber registered with GPhC or working towards this qualification
- Evidence of commitment to CPD and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation
- Experience within NHS pharmacy practice
- Awareness of professional accountability and GPhC standards
- Desirable: experience as a prescriber and human resources management knowledge
- Effective written and verbal communication
