Overview
In this Advanced Practitioner role, you will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary CAMHS Outreach team to support children and young people in acute crisis. You will manage a complex caseload, perform advanced assessments, and plan treatment, including prescribing where appropriate. You’ll drive service development, evidence-based practice, and staff training while collaborating across health, education, and social care to support safe community-based care.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical decision-making within a multidisciplinary team
- Manage a complex caseload with clinical responsibility
- Conduct physical health screening
- Provide advanced assessment and treatment planning
- Offer specialist advice to colleagues across the MDT
- Prescribe medications within scope as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
- Monitor and improve standards through supervision, audits, research, and education
- Contribute to service development and integrated working with health, education and social care partners
- Adhere to shift patterns (9am–5pm, with occasional evenings) and adapt patterns to service needs
Key requirements
- Professional registration with NMC, HCPC, or GPhC with significant post-registration experience
- MSc Advanced Practice and NHSE Digital Badge
- Recognised teaching/supervisor or coaching qualification or relevant experience
- Skills in assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice
- Registered as an independent prescriber with the relevant body (NMC/HCPC/GPhC)
- Desirable: experience in a mental health setting and managing children and young people's mental health crisis
