Overview
In this role you will provide high-quality interventional cardiology services as a Consultant Cardiologist at Medway NHS Foundation Trust, helping to expand coronary intervention capabilities and contribute to PPCI rotas.
You will work within the Cardiology Department to shape the future of cardiovascular care, support education and training, and participate in cross-functional MDTs.
The position offers opportunities to develop interests in CTCA and Medical Education, with a focus on service growth and patient-centered care.
You will engage with a regional network to deliver best-in-class cardiovascular services.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the cardiologist of the week rota including weekends
- Contribute to the interventional service at MFT
- Contribute to the cardiology in-reach service
- Cardiology Department Educational/Teaching lead
- SDEC Cardiology Oversight
- Undertake at least 2 outpatient clinic sessions per week
- Attend weekly MDT and JCC meetings
- Supervise a trainee medical and nursing team
- PPCI sessions at EKHUFT with 1:12 on-call frequency and compensatory time off after on-calls
- Key requirements
- Consultant Cardiologist with an interest in Coronary Intervention
- Basic Medical Degree
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent
- CCST/CCT in Cardiology (or will obtain within 6 months)
- Full competences in interventional cardiology
- Full use of IVUS, FFR/i FR/shockwave technologies
- Desirable CT coronary angiogram
- Experience within NHS
- Research experience
- Good communication, organisational & leadership skills
