We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team at St Albans Medical Group, Felling Health Centre, Gateshead. The successful applicant will work as part of our primary care team, providing a high standard of general medical services to our practice population. We welcome applications from experienced GPs as well as newly qualified GPs. We are able to offer flexibility around the number of sessions for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job include:
- Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations.
- Managing a varied caseload and responding to acute and urgent presentations.
- Participating in the duty doctor and home visiting rotas, as required.
- Reviewing and managing patient test results and correspondence.
- Prescribing safely and appropriately in accordance with national and local guidance.
- Completing referrals, medical reports and other clinical documentation.
- Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous clinical records.
- Participating in practice audits, clinical governance and significant event reviews.
- Contributing to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the education and training of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Participating in practice meetings, educational sessions and relevant training.
- Contributing to the development of a key clinical area, with opportunities to take a lead role where appropriate.
- Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of practice policies, procedures and services.
Essential qualifications include:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- MRCGP or equivalent.
- Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Relevant experience working in UK general practice.
