Overview
In this role you lead administration, monitoring and optimisation of Building Energy Management Systems across NHS facilities to drive energy efficiency, compliance and asset management. You work with engineering, maintenance and external partners to install, upgrade and commission BMS controls, investigate faults, and support the decarbonisation agenda. You will analyse energy performance, manage licensing and security, and help shape energy centre operations to meet sustainability commitments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee operation and commissioning of BEMS to ensure efficient building services
- Analyse BEMS performance and monitor energy plant to optimise efficiency
- Investigate anomalies, faults and variances in energy performance
- Lead design and commissioning collaboration to ensure metering and controls specifications
- Maintain BEMS licensing, software updates and security access
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance and external providers on upgrades and lifecycle planning
- Support metering data validation and energy data reporting for compliance and KPI tracking
- Assist with energy efficiency projects, energy surveys and energy management analytics
- Develop and maintain PPM schedules and liaise on maintenance of energy systems
- Ensure safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to HTMs/HBNs and group policies
Key requirements
- Educated to degree level or extensive experience with BMS/BEMS (degree in a relevant subject preferred but not mandatory)
- Trained in use of BMS software
- Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems and energy saving in complex organisations
- In-depth knowledge of HS, COSHH, CDM Regulations and HTM design guides
- Experience with energy and carbon systems including Low & Zero Carbon technologies
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to produce reports and recommendations
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating projects (Desirable)
- Full Driving Licence (Desirable)
- Experience with large complex estates (Desirable)
- Competent in data validation and smart data understanding (Desirable)
