Overview
In this role you will supervise the Treasury function across two hospital cash offices, ensuring accurate cash and bank accounting and timely reconciliation.
You will work closely with the Accounts Payable Manager to keep payment runs on schedule and support audits with reliable records.
You will train staff, manage monthly timetables, and contribute to cash flow and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
- Supervise the Treasury function for two hospital cash offices
- Plan, prioritise and organise work schedules to meet monthly timetable deadlines
- Oversee bank reconciliations and correct ledger entries for AR, AP, and management accounting
- Train and develop junior Treasury staff
- Ensure confidentiality and data security in cash office activities
- Oversee timely payment of creditors in line with Standing Financial Instructions
- Prepare monthly reports for Audit Committee and NHSi returns
- Conduct annual staff appraisals and maintain procedure notes
- Support improvements and developments within the department
- Ensure compliance with accounting guidance and internal controls
- Collaborate with Internal and External Auditors to validate controls and reporting outputs
- Key requirements
- High level of accounting, technical and IT skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of work
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines
- Previous supervisory/line management experience
- Minimum of 3 years financial accounts experience
- Desirable NHS finance experience
- Flexibility in working hours at year-end to meet tight timetables
- AAT Technician or equivalent qualification or experience
- Understanding of VAT legislation
- MS Office experience to intermediate level (spreadsheets, Pivot Tables, Look-up formulas)
- Desirable: Working towards Professional CCAB qualification
